Foreign Policy (FP), the premier news and analysis publication for international relations, is seeking an experienced, entrepreneurial, and strategic leader to lead our FP Analytics research group in our Washington D.C. office. FP Analytics is the independent research and advisory division of FP, comprised of an interdisciplinary team of policy analysts, and economists with deep subject-matter and regional expertise across a range of issues, sectors and geographies. We also maintain a global network of experts on the ground in key markets, allowing us to give real-time insights on changing political, economic ,and social issues around the world.
The Managing Director reports directly to the Publisher and leads strategy, operations, and revenue generating activities for our FP Analytics team. This leadership role will lead the research team in executing new research projects and brainstorm new projects with the FP strategic development team using her/his knowledge of the international policy landscape, and market trends. The successful candidate will be a proven strategic leader and people manager, with a track record of success in the global affairs world, and with international business clients.
FP Analytics conducts bespoke research for corporations, NGOs, multilateral organizations and policy groups in both private and public formats. FP Analytics designs the research to answer client needs while maintaining complete editorial independence from both its clients and FP itself. The group uses quantitative and qualitative analysis, and is expert at aggregating and interpreting publicly available data. FP Analytics also runs a variety of simulations for clients, including the highly regarded PeaceGame simulation, which will take place this year in Washington, Paris and Abu Dhabi, as well as quarterly research reports – such as our recent Mining the Future analysis of Chinese resource control - published for Premium subscribers of FP.
